The luckiest newsagent in Ireland continued its winning streak recently with a whopping €15,000 scratch card win.

Lucky Louis Hennessy of Malone’s newsagent in Kildare has notched up seven lotto winners over the past two years resulting in a total prize bonanza of over €6 m. Just last week, he added to his tally with a major win on a Crossword ticket.

A local lady, who wants to remain anonymous, was bowled over when she realised her luck.

“She thought she had won a €100 or a €1,000 but then when she had it checked, it was €15,000,” explained Louis.

“This is the biggest win we’ve had on a scratch card. I think it’s one of the biggest amounts you can actually win on a scratch card. It’s brilliant. She was thrilled.”

Lucky Louis is delighted with his winning streak. He had three winners in the 2012 lotto special Christmas draw.

During Easter of last year he started his roll with an €18,000 win. Then on March 31 2012, the massive €5.7m lotto jackpot was won by local girl, Giustina Macari. In July, the luck continued with a €250,000 win. However, that prize has yet to be claimed. Local woman, Theresa Nugent also caught the winning bug picking up €45,000 in September 2012.

With the recession hitting families hard, Louis is delighted to have so many winning tickets in Kildare town.

“Lets hope it continues,” he said.
