Gardai in Kildare town are urging motorists to avoid leaving any valuables on view in their cars after a spate of thefts from parked cars.
There were six incidents reported from Athy, the Japanese Gardens in Kildare town, Milltown, Kilberry, Kill Hill in Monasterevin and outside Athgarvan National School.
In most cases, the car windows were smashed and items removed included a racing bike, laptop, handbags, wallet, and mobile phones.
These are just some of these incidents that were reported as the gardai have made progress on other similar thefts.
They are urging members of the public to be vigilant and not to leave any items in their cars, even if they are only planning on being away for a short time to go to the graveyard, carry out an errand or go for a walk.
