Two people have been killed and a third seriously injured in a road crash which took place near Athy this afternoon, Friday, May 31.
The crash took place on the link road between the M9 motorway and Athy at Ballycullane, shortly before 2.30pm.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was killed, as was the front seat passenger in the car, who was a woman in her 80s. The driver of the car, also in his 80s, was seriously injured.
All three were taken to Naas General Hospital.
The road remains closed this afternoon while a forensic investigation takes place.
