An estimated 5,000 people turned out for the Celbridge parade, writes Henry Bauress.
Spokesperson, Stephen Johnston, said they had 32 entries and the weather held up well.
The starting point of Church Road worked well, he said, allowing the road around the town to remain open for longer.
Last year they parade started at the Clane road, which meant that roads had to be closed earlier.
“The weather held up well for us,” said Stephen.
The 4.00pm start in Celbridge enabled the band to take part.
Cllr. Colm Purcell said the Celbridge parade was “terrific.”
The parade committee will announce the results later.
The parade cost around nine thousands euros to run, the main costs being security barriers and insurance.
