The trial of a Castledermot man charged with murder will begin at the High Court in Dublin this Friday.

The trial of a Castledermot man charged with murder will begin at the High Court in Dublin this Friday.

Michael McDonald, Barnhill, Castledermot, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Breda Cummins at Michael Dooley Terrace, Athy, on May 13, 2010.

Lawyers acting for the State refused a plea of manslaughter by Mr. McDonald. The jury trial is expected to last three weeks.

Mr. McDonald is also pleading not guilty to assault causing harm on John Lawler on the same occasion.
