A new primary care centre has been proposed for Kilcock.
Kilcock Community Network (KCN), the Integrated Service Programme, and the HSE announced details of the HSE application for a primary care facility for the town. KCN spokesperson, Dave Flanagan, said the 14,000 sq. ft. facility will be located in the Bawnogues, along with car parking and services.
The planning application will be submitted this week.
Mr. Flanagan said the main aim of the centre model is to offer more health care services, including mental health facilities, where clinically appropriate in a community setting rather than a hospital setting. He said its location at Bawnogues is part of a co-location initiative help deliver a shared multipurpose community centre
for the community. KCN and the HSE plan to hold a public information day in Kilcock.
Mr Flanagan said the facility will significantly reduce the cost of building a shared multipurpose community centre. It will provide other community facilities, such as meeting rooms.
