The Village at Lyons near Newcastle is the latest venue for the Antiques and More Fairs organised by Joan Murray, who has been running regular fairs in the Dublin area for over twenty years. Joan came across the Village “by accident”, and fell in love with the location.
“I was completely charmed by the beautifully restored mill house, the little cottages, and the lovely canal side location. It was like stepping on to a set from Downton Abbey, and hard to credit I was only five or six minutes from the motorway. My immediate thought was, my clients would just love to come to an antiques fair in this setting”.
There will be twenty exhibitors taking stands at the event on Sunday (June 10), all dealing in very varied areas of antiques, art, collectables and memorabilia, as the fairs are intended to appeal to a wide range of interests. There will even be stands selling vintage fashion, which has become very popular in recent times.
Admission to the fair, which runs from noon till 6pm, is €3.50. The various village shops, cafe, bar and restaurant will be open to the public as usual from 11am. Information from 087 2670607, web www.vintageireland.eu
