History group plans new book

NAAS Local History Group are planning a pictorial history book called “Naas People...Through The Lens Of Time” as part of its autumn/winter activities. These activities start with Heritage Week, which runs from August 18-25.

NAAS Local History Group are planning a pictorial history book called “Naas People...Through The Lens Of Time” as part of its autumn/winter activities. These activities start with Heritage Week, which runs from August 18-25.

Naas Town Hall will open to the public for two guided tours at 14.45pm and 15.45pm on Saturday August 18.

Naas Library will host an illustrated talk on the 1932 Eucharistic Congress, incorporating the Radharc film “The Year of the Congress”. A walk down the canal is on Thursday August 23 at 7.15pm. On Saturday August 25 there will be a guided walk visiting the three churches of Naas. All heritage week events are open and free that day.

The NLHG autumn/winter programme begins on Tuesday 4 September at McCormacks pub, for a special walk-n-talk entitled “Naas in 1912”. On Sunday 16 September there is a visit to the Curragh Military Museum at 2pm. More events are planned between October and February.
