Cannabis seized in Naas

Gardai uncovered €2.1 million worth of cannabis in house searches in Naas and Carlow yesterday and this morning.

Two men have been arrested as a result of the drugs seizure.

According to a garda spokesperson, searches were carried out in Naas yesterday, Tuesday March 27, and this morning, resulting in the seizure of a quantity of cannabis.

A number of follow-up searches were carried out in Naas and Carlow, and a substantial amound of suspected cannabis resin and cannabis herb was discovered.

Two men, one 47 years old and one 35 years old, have been arrested under the Misuse of Drugs Act and are currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. They are being held in Naas and Carlow Garda Stations.

Gardai from Naas, Carlow and Pearse Street Garda Stations were involved in the operation.
