Massive cannabis haul in Newbridge

A cannabis haul with an estimated street value of €6.5 million was made in premises in Newbridge and in Ballyfermot, West Dublin, this Friday afternoon, March 30.

A cannabis haul with an estimated street value of €6.5 million was made in premises in Newbridge and in Ballyfermot, West Dublin, this Friday afternoon, March 30.

Two men aged in their 30s and 40s were arrested following the search in Ballyfermot. They are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Clondalkin Garda Station.

The herbal cannabis and cannabis resin were siezed as part of an operation involving the Garda National Drugs Unit and Customs officers.

The operation is currently ongoing.
