PEOPLE from the world of theatre and sport were at Castletown House last Wednesday for a large cheque presentation to a chancer charity.
Peter Sheridan,playwright, director, actor, novelist and screenwriter attended the presentation of proceeds from the 2013 Liz McDonnell Run to ARC Cancer Care on Wednesday afternoon.
The event, in the East Wing of Castletown House, was also attended by members of the Leinster rugby squad.
Peter who is a great supporter of ARC expressed his delight at the opportunity to be involved in the presentation of a cheque for €10,000.
His recently released book “Break a Leg” is a great success and it deals with his family life including his well known brother the film director Jim. Peter himself also directed his own film “The Borstal Boy” and he is also a Rooney prize winner for Irish literature.
The cheque for presentation to ARC are the proceeds raised from this year’s Liz McDonnell Run and the Liz McDonnell Run’s “Jam Packed Night”. Both events were a great success and very well supported.
Liz McDonnell is Celbridge student who died from cancer in 2005,aged 18. A star athlete she represented Kildare, Leinster and Ireland.
