The Moat Club are looking for actresses prepared to bare all in its first amateur performance of Calendar Girls.

Calendar Girls tells the true story of a group of 11 Women’s Institute members who feature in a naked calendar to raise money for charity. The Moat Club is looking to perform the show in October and is inviting women aged between 40 and 70 years to follow in the footsteps of great actresses to disrobe and become their very own Calendar Girl.

“Obviously on the Moat Theatre stage the actresses would have to be, let’s just say, up for revealing something,” the Moate’s PRO Eilish Rafferty explained to the Leader.

“There is a complex system of carefully placed props so the womens’ modesty will be maintained at all times. The actresses would have to be prepared to show some flesh, but nudity is not a full requirement. All shapes and sizes are welcome.

“It has a strong director and an experienced cast of strong women.

“It should be a lot of fun and it will naturally gain a lot of local interest. And for the women performing it is important to note that the backstage will all be women too just to make sure nobody sees them in the flesh,” she added.

Auditions take place on Wednesday, July 18 at 8pm in the Moat Theatre.
