Athy is gearing up for the Kildare County Show, which will take place in the south Kildare town’s Showgrounds on Sunday week, June 15.
This year the organisers are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the County show in 1994.
“This year we have added some new attractions,” said Emma O’Brien of the organising committee.
The show will feature a crafting emporium, a healthy living section, a sheep derby, and a World War I display and reenactment.
“We have added a a big screen and main stage where there will be a free concert with Tom Cooper and his band and a full programme of entertainment throughout the day,” she added.
Other events include the hunt chase, lego display, funfair, dog show, livestock, kiddies entertainment, indoor and outdoor trade stands and lots more.
The show takes place on Father’s Day, June 15, in the Athy showgrounds.
Gates open at 11am and the show will finish at 6pm.
Entry is €5 for adults and is free for accompanied children. Parking is also free at the showgrounds
