Bogus collectors are operating in the Celbridge area and a warning has gone out to householders to beware of anyone calling to their doors looking for cash.
Celbridge Community Council (CCC) has learned that bogus collectors purporting to be from the CCC were calling door to door in estates off the Hazelhatch Road last weekend.
“CCC does not collect from door to door and will not be doing so. We have an annual collection ,on a set date, at local supermarkets. We obtain a Garda Permit for this collection and our collectors carry a copy of this permit at all times,” said CCC secretary Mairin Hyland.
