The annual Feile Bride festival celebrating Kildare’s patron saint kicks off tomorrow (Friday January 31) in Kildare town.
This year’s theme is “Kindling Sparks of Hope”. Organised by the Brigidine Sisters of Solas Bhride, it will run until February 9.
Tomorrow’s programme of events includes the Weaving of St. Brigid’s Crosses Workshop at the Heritage Centre from 2pm to 4.30pm. The Brigid’s Eve ritual takes place at St. Brigid’s Well from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. This will be a pilgrimage of quiet reflection, song and prayer.
