Naas Tidy Towns honours locals with awards night

BUSINESS owners and private citizens who contributed to the Naas Tidy Towns effort to enhance the appearance of the town were honoured at the group’s annual awards night, hosted at the Town House Hotel.

The Hollywood Park estate, Sallins Road won the award for best large estate and the best entrance, followed by Kingsfurze.

In the town, Swan’s at Fairgreen won the award for best shop front, followed by Conway’s and Hugh Statham.

The Best floral display at a business premises was won by Kavanagh’s pub and restaurant, followed by McCormack’s pub and Grace’s pub.

A youth endeavour award was won by Hannah Goodfellow while a community spirit award was won by Aggie McGarr.

Cherry Grove at Sallins Road was adjudged the best small estate.

Trish Sweeney (Kingsfurze Terrace) and Jane McCoy (Kingsfurze Avenue) took 1st and 2nd places respectively in the best garden section.
