Front bench for O Fearghail

Kildare South TD Sean O Fearghail has said that he is relishing his extended front bench role while continuing in the critical post of opposition Chief Whip in the new Fianna Fáil Front Bench announced this evening by party leader Micheál Martin. Commenting further Deputy O Fearghail said: “I very much enjoyed my period as spokesman on Foreign Affairs but I am greatly enthused by the opportunity presented to me in leading the Party’s participation in the new Constitutional Convention and indeed the nationwide consultation the FF party will conduct to consider what reform of the 1937 Constitution is required to reflect the challanges facing us all in modern Ireland.” He continued “The task of shadowing two Government Departments, Defence and Arts & Culture, will inevitably increase my workload but, as a Kildare man, I am particularly looking forward to the role as spokesman on Defence.”
