Shot fired at house in Suncroft

Residents of Church View housing estate in Suncroft, Co Kildare, were left terrorised after a man approached a house in the estate carrying a shotgun and proceeded to fire a random shot at the front door.

The incident happened last Tuesday, May 8 at 9.35pm.

Kildare gardai, who are investigating the incident, are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. The man was described as wearing a grey hoody and tracksuit bottoms.

“We haven’t identified this man yet,” said Sgt Seamus Rothwell of Newbridge Garda Station.

“Suncroft is a country area so he probably got away in a car. He aimed the gun at the front door and fired.”
