Gardai in Newbridge are appealling for witnesses to come forward in relation to a robbery of a house in Pairc Mhuire at 4.45am by two juvenilles who have since been arrested.
Gardai responded to a call and received support from the gardai helicopter around 5am. The two young males were located near the River Liffey after their get away car went through a wall along the River opposite Eyre St.
“The two young men are currently being detained at Newbridge Garda Station,” said Sgt Bernard Clinch. “The house was occupied at the time gardai were alerted and all items stolen in the raid have since been recovered. Gardai looked for backup from the air support unit in Baldonnell. It was considered a high priority indcident to help look for the suspects in relation to the burglary. The helicopter is fitted with heat seeking equipment that responds to body heat. A small amount of property was stolen but has since been recovered.”
