The doom and gloom of the Budget had a silver lining when Newbridge Chamber members and their guests donated to those in need at their recent annual Budget Breakfast Briefing, held at The Silver Restaurant last Wednesday week.

The Chamber’s Chosen Charity of the year for 2012 is St Vincent de Paul Society, Newbridge.

Gerry Enright, President of the local conference of St. Vincent de Paul received a E1,000 cheque from Chamber President Con McNamara on behalf of its members.

“It is harder each year to reach all those who need our assistance in the Newbridge area,” said Gerry at the presentation.

“The numbers keep rising and we have to spread our help wider. We are very grateful for all donations. The business people of Newbridge have always very generous and it is much appreciated by the Society.”
