The biggest single jobs announcement in the history of Naas was made this morning, Tuesday, October 9, by the Kerry Group.
The multinational food and ingredients company will employ 400 people in the construction of a €100 million technology and innovation centre until 2016.
Thereafter 900 people will be employed on what the Kerry Group are saying will be a 28-acre campus at Millennium Business Park on the outskirts of the town.
Construction of the new facility will commence in early 2013 once planning is complete and is expected to be operational by 2015 and completed by 2016.
The Taoiseach, the Minister for Jobs Joan Burton, local TD’s and North Kildare Chamber of Commerce have all been quick and enthusiastic to welcome the news.
Martin Heydon TD said it was “a huge boost to Kildare and a major vote of confidence in the agri-food sector”.
