Jason Turner departs Sinn Fein

Jason Turner, the Sinn Fein candidate for Kildare South, in the 2011 General Election, has decided for personal reasons, to leave the Sinn Fein party.

Jason Turner, the Sinn Fein candidate for Kildare South, in the 2011 General Election, has decided for personal reasons, to leave the Sinn Fein party.

A spokesperson for the party confirmed that Mr Turner left the party on Monday, May 7 however posters of Mr Turner using the Sinn Fein banner and asking people to vote No to the forthcoming referendum have yet to be taken down around Newbridge.

Mark Lynch, spokesman for the Dinny Barry Cumman in Newbridge, stated “As of Monday, May 7, 2012, Mr Turner is no longer associated with the Sinn Fein organisation in County Kildare. We would like to thank Jason for all his hard work on behalf of Sinn Fein in the Kildare South Constituency.

Sinn Fein secured over 5000 first preference votes in the last general election in the county and Jason was part of the team that helped achieve it. We would like to take this opportunity to wish Jason all the best of luck with his future plans.”
