A Naas woman has been fined €350 and banned from driving for three years after she pleaded guilty to a charge of drink driving at the local district court last Wednesday, July 26.

Bairbre Hayden, whose address is listed as 4 Newbridge Road, Naas was arrested after Gardai noticed the manner of her driving on April 29 last at Friary Road, Naas. She was involved in a single vehicle collision with a bollard.

“Is the bollard alright?” Judge Zaidan asked.

“Well, it hasn’t been seen since,” said solicitor Conal Boyce, who was acting for the defendant.

A reading of 70 miligrams of alcohol per 100 mililitres of breath was recorded, putting her into the three year disqualification bracket.

The defendant, the court heard, was co-operative. She is not working at the moment.
