Edible beds for the taking at Kildare town's eco park

The edible beds containing herbs and flowers

Edible beds have sprung in Kildare town's eco park, on Grey Abbey Road, and in the town square thanks to Kildare Tidy Towns and Kildare Grow It Yourself group.

Locals are invited to take a little if they need it. Chives, rosemary, sage, lavender and pansies - all edible - are grown in the beds, and there are also plenty of pots of Chives and Rosemary to give away too.

An information evening was held about the raised edible bed at the eco park recently to get the beds up and growing. Cuttings from the rosemary and chives were also available.
