The students of St. Farnan’s Post-Primary School in Prosperous celebrated the European Day of Languages on Wednesday, September 26 by carrying out a language audit of the school community.
The results of the audit, which was carried out by Transition Year students and should make for interesting reading, will be posted on the stfarnans.ie website soon.
The Irish, French, Spanish and Italian departments at the school, in collaboration with the Transition Year students, decorated the school with flags and posters received from the European Commission and Léargas.
According the school, it’s the first time the languages departments have come together to mark this day.
“Additional language skills are an invaluable asset for students entering college or the workplace and we are pleased to be able to offer a range of language options here in St. Farnan’s,” principal Eddie Collins explained.
