Ireland’s newest Motorsport website, Motorsport.ie was launched recently at a press event in Naas. The brainchild of Mondello Commentator, Journalist and PR guru Leo Nulty and P1:Digital’s Paul Grogan, they aim to take a novel approach to the promotion of Motorsport in Ireland.

Amongst the bloggers on the site already are BTCC Driver Aron Smith, Japanese F3 competitor Gary Thompson, UK Ginetta Junior frontrunner Niall Murray and Superbike Cup Rider Jamie Masterson. Cultural Event Management Graduate and Irish language broadcaster Caitriona Bairead has also come on board and she has introduced Sean Doyle’s Blog- as Gaeilge! Sean, a fluent Irish speaker, will blog regularly in both English and Irish on his “Cupla Focail” page as he chases the GT Global Lights title in 2012. There will be more of these blogs added with the intention also to run a regular guest column for riders and drivers from different disciplines.

“We want the content to be informative, but lighthearted”, said Nulty today, “That’s part of the reason we have so many drivers and riders writing for us. We want to show what life is like behind the scenes and as part of this we will be running features with

characters from all aspects of the sport- Officials, Mechanics, maybe even Spectators- nobody is safe!”

They have also recruited Cregor Elliot to share some of his incredibly popular self directed and produced video clips. His first mission was to tour the Bavaria City Racing Route on a Dublin Bike, commenting on the buildings and event in his inimitable style

as he did so- this already live on Motorsport.ie and is an absolute must watch if you are attending the event this weekend.

The site will also have a live Twitter feed and with Nulty commentating at most Mondello Events and other events such as the recent Bavaria F1event in Dublin. It will definitely be the best place to keep up with all things motorsport related.
