Relay for Life, an overnight community celebration which honours current and former cancer patients, their families and friends, will take place at the Curragh Racecourse over the weekend from Saturday September 6 at 5pm to 5pm on Sunday, September 7
All funds raised through sponsorship will go to the Irish Cancer Society to support their work in eliminating cancer as a major health problem and in improving the lives of those living with cancer.
Everybody in the community is invited to come along and experience this inspiring event of celebration and commemoration but if you cannot make it on the day please support us here.
Sporting legend Dermot Earley was announced as ambabassdor for the event which will take place at the Racecourse spaning a 24-hour period to raise vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society. All funds raised will go towards the Irish Cancer Society to support their work to improve the lives of those living with cancer.
Because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the 24-hour event. Otherwise team members are free to socialise, picnic, play games, enjoy 24 hour live entertainment, and participate in lots of fun activities.
Everybody in the community is invited to come along and experience this inspiring event of celebration and commemoration. The Survivors’ Lap is an inspirational start to the event where cancer survivors of all ages are invited to begin the Relay by walking the first lap of the course.
