The Annual National Spring Clean will take place during the whole month of April, and Newbridge Tidy Towns are calling on Residents Associations and the Business Community to participate in the event again this year.

National Spring Clean is in its fifteenth year, and takes place throughout the month of April.

“Litter and graffiti are unfortunately still a major feature of the Irish landscape, whether it is along the public roads, in residential areas or in hedgerows. Litter has a negative impact, and seriously detracts from the appearance of our environment” said Déaglán de Paor of Newbridge Tidy Towns Association.

“If each residents association, business and club in the town were to organise a two hour clean-up of their immediate area and the road frontage, it would greatly improve the appearance of the town.”

This year’s campaign will again encourage every sector of society to actively participate and take responsibility for litter, and the general appearance of their locality. If groups are planning a clean-up, or would like further information on clean-up kits contact Newbridge Tidy Towns at email newbridgetidytowns@gmail.com.
