Kildare Rose misses out on Tralee place

Unfortunately for the Ballymore Eustace girl, she missed out on a spot at the International Festival in Tralee later this summer.

Roses from all over Ireland and around the world gathered to learn if they would be among the lucky few to appear on the Kerry stage later this summer.

A busload of 30 of Megan’s friends and family descended on Portlaoise to support her over the weekend. Speaking to the Leinster Leader during the festival, she described the atmosphere as “fantastic”.

The music lover performed Eva Cassidy’s Fields of Gold as her party piece. The young piano teacher has just finished a psychology degree in UCD and would like to pursue a music career.
