Hope(d), a charity which helps prevent suicide and combat depression, has organised its third annual Light up the Skies event.

Due to insurance reasons, the lanterns will be replaced by biodegradeable balloons. The event takes place on Tuesday September 10 at the Greyhound Track, Newbridge at 8pm. All over Ireland people will gather to release the balloons at 10pm to remember their loved ones lost to suicide.

“Please join us at this symbolic gathering to show unity in the fight against suicide whilst also sending a message to our government about how many people are truly suffering through the hurt and the pain of suicide,” said Hope(d).

The balloons will be available on the night for €5 and that includes entry to a draw. For further information please check out the facebook page for Hoped Charity.
