This coming Thursday morning, 12 Clane men will begin an epic journey to cycle the full length of Ireland.
The men, all members of Clane Wheelers. Are hoping to cover the trip in three and a half days.
It’s all in aid of the Little Way Cancer Support Centre.
To prepare for this venture, months of hard training have gone into their legs (and other body parts), the training has seen the lads cover practically every road in Leinster - including some arduous hill work in the Wicklow mountains.
The cycle will start from Mizen Head in Cork on Thursday May 16, and finishes Sunday lunchtime May 19 at Malin Head in Donegal – a total of 690km – an average of almost 200kms per day.
The cyclists are Charlie O’Neill, John Cribbin, Ken McManamon, John Keating, Philip Casey, Clement Herron, Michael Birchall, Michael Cullen, Brendan Martin, Maurice Sugrue, Joseph Coonan and David Cafferty.
