A Kildare bred hourse has been selected for the London Olympics.

Flexible, bred by Edward and Catherine Doyle in Kildare, will jump for the United States Olympic team.

The horse’s selection came following victory in the CN Performance Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows in Canada at the weekend.

Following the US trial and viewing system, Harry and Mollie Chapman’s stallion Flexible was placed first on the US selection list.

In April Flexible and rider, Rich Fellers, won the Indoor World Cup of Showjumping and has wins in numerous key US classes, many of which were being used as US Olympic viewing trials.

The show jumping phase of the Games takes place from 3-8 August in Greenwich Park in London.
