RENOWNED Kerry footballer Colm “Gooch” Cooper paid a recent visit to Piper’s Hill college in Naas.

The four time All-Ireland senior medal winner was in town to meet with Transition Year students of the school and he addressed their enterprise class.

The Gooch, who holds 7 All-Star awards, works with AIM and was accompanied by two other bank representatives to talk to the students about the ‘Build A Bank’ challenge.

The challenge encourages students to run their own bank with the support of AIB.

The footballer explained how the initiative offers students the opportunity to learn about managing their own business, while also gaining experience in interview skills and marketing from the local AIB representatives.

Interested students are currently filling out application forms for positions in their school bank and successful candidates will have the opportunity to win prizes such as Ipads sponsored by AIB.

The highlight for many was when the students got to leave the classroom and learn some other skills from Gooch. After the talk they were taken outside, where they were shown some football drills and got to pose for pictures and chat to the Kerry star.
