Kildare will play three home games in the revamped Bord na Mona O’Byrne Cup which gets under way on 6 January.
The format has been changed and the 2013 competition will now be run off on a league basis, four groups of four teams with each team guaranteed three games. Five Third Level Colleges are included while Kilkenny have opted not to take part.
The Four Group Winners will qualify for the semi finals.
In the event of ties the group winners will be decided as follows, and in this order: (a) Where two teams only are involved - the outcome of the meeting of the two teams in the previous game in the competitions; (b) Score difference (subtracting the total scores against from scores for); (c) Highest total for; (d) A play-off.
Kildlare are in group D and will play their opening game against Carlow IT on Sunday 6 January; their second game against DIT on Wesnesday 9 January and their final group game agaisnt Wexford on Sunday 13 January.
The semi finals will be played on 20 January with the final down for Sunday 27 January.
