The Cavan man played less than a minute before being substituted as the boys in red were forced to work overtime before dismissing the determined display from an Éire Óg Corrachoill side that ended the game with just 13 players, on a score line on 1-18 to 1-11.

Meanwhile, champions, Celbridge chasing their fourth title in succession, were also put to the pin of their collars before seeing their opponents score the last two point so of the game to end all square on a score line of Celbridge 0-15 Confey 1-12.
