Following a draw with Castledermot in the Leinster Leader SFL Division 1 last night (Thursday 11 July) Moorefield take over top spot, on scoring difference, from St. Laurences.
In a rip roaring game Castledermot, having been behind by four points at half time, took control on the resumption and led by two points with some ten minutes remaiing.
Moorefield hit back to take the lead with a minute to go. However Castledermot got a deserved draw with the final kick of play.
The win puts Moorefield top of Divison 1 with 19 points, on scoring difference, from St. Laurences with Confey two points back on 17 in third who are one point ahead of Athy. Castledermot are next with 15 points, the same as Sarsfields who defeted Clane, also last night, 1-16 to 0-16.
So there is a lot to play for with just two games remaining.
