Sarsfields handed home venue

Following a meeting of the Leinster Council, last evening (Wednesday 31 October) it has been confirmed that the Leinster Club Football Championship game against St. Patrick’s of Louth, will now be played at St. Conleth’s Park, Newbridge, on Sunday 11 November with a 2.30 pm throw-in, writes TOMMY CALLAGHAN..

Following a meeting of the Leinster Council, last evening (Wednesday 31 October) it has been confirmed that the Leinster Club Football Championship game against St. Patrick’s of Louth, will now be played at St. Conleth’s Park, Newbridge, on Sunday 11 November with a 2.30 pm throw-in, writes TOMMY CALLAGHAN..

The game was originally fixed as a home game for the Louth champions but following a penalty imposed on them, following a Leinster Club game last season, they have now lost home advantage and the game will now go ahead in Newbridge. However there is one problem still to be ironed out as Clogheirnkoe are due to play their Leinster Junior Club semi final at the same venue and time on that date. The Leinster Council, it is understood, is presently attempting to sort this out with the likelihood of a double header being the solution.
