This Sunday Offaly and Kildare will meet for the 38th time, including replays, in the Leinster Senior Football Championship, writes Ruth Chambers.
Their first encounter was at Geashill in 1905, Kildare won that game, and went on to win the next five meetings of the sides.
In fact Offaly’s first success against the Lilywhites didn’t come until 1940, but since then the balance has gone in favour of the Faithful County.
To date Kildare have won 17 games to Offaly’s 15 with five drawn.
