On a blustery day in Milltown, the rain held off and the sun shone, for the Eamon Reddy Cup Final.
Reddy Cup Final
Milltown: 0-11
Nurney: 0-12
Milltown were first out of the blocks with a pointed free from Myles O’Reilly with 30 seconds. They quickly added another before Nurney woke up.
At this point, Nurney gradually began to get on top, and went into a 0-4 to 0-2 lead. It was tit for tat after that and Nurney went in at the break with a 0-6 to 0-4 lead.
In the second half, Nurney took up where they left off, and at one stage had stretched the lead to four points. However, the Milltown men refused to lie down, and continued attacking right to the finish.
In the end they just ran out of time, leaving Nurney with a one point win.
Both sides should benefit from what was a high paced, well fought game just a few days before the championship restarts.
