Kildare senior players are to meet tonight (Wednesday 4 September) to look at their options following the rejection of the proposal to reappoint Kieran McGeeney at last night’s (Tuesday 3 September) Co. Board meeting.

Kildare senior players are to meet tonight (Wednesday 4 September) to look at their options following the rejection of the proposal to reappoint Kieran McGeeney at last night’s (Tuesday 3 September) Co. Board meeting.

The players released the following statement earlier today: “In light of the Kildare County Board’d decision not to extend Kieran McGeeney’s term as manager in last night’s vote, depsite the expressed support of the Kildare Senior Football squad for the manager’s retention, the panel will hold a meeting tonight to discuss the issue futher and formulate a response. No further comment will be made by the players prior to this meeing.”

Meanwhile it is expected that Co. Board Chairman, John McMahon will be interviewed on the RTE Six One News this evening.
