Vocational boys fall to late Cork point

IT was heartbreak for Declan Cryan’s Kildare Vocational side on Saturday in Moyne going down to Cork by a late point writes TOMMY CALLAGHAN.

Kildare led by three points (0-6 to 0-3) at the interval but it was the Munster champions who took control in the second half kicking ahead by four with some 12 minutes remaining.

Kildare fought their way back to level only for Cork to get the winning point just on full time.

It was a brave display from the Kildare lads in a smashing game of football with Neil O’Flynn having an outstanding game.

Meanwhle Kildare senior footballers defeated Kerry in a challenge played on Saturday played just outside Tralee. Ciaran McGeeney’s side winning on a scoreline of 0-18 to 0-17.

It was heartbreak for NUI Maynooth who found DCU too strong in the final of the Sigerson Cup. Final score DCU 2-17 NUI Maynooth 0-7.
