CLUB Kildare launched its annual fund raising draw last week and what an opportunity this presents for Kildare supporters (and others) as the top prize on offer is ownership of a race horse for a year with all winnings going to the lucky winner.

Pat Mangan, Chairman of Club Kildare the main fund raising body of Kildare GAA said at the launch that this draw is a unique opportunity for one and all to come on board and get behind Kilare GAA in a meaningful way and in the process be in with a chance of becoming the owner of a 3-year-old horse, trained by top trainer Charles O’Brien for the 2014 season, along with a string of other fabulous prizes.

The main draw will be held on 20 August while the Early Bird draw (top prize 10 Leinster football final tickets) is scheduled for 11th July; tickets are priced at E20 each.

Mr. Mangan said his body was making a major drive this year to get each and every club on board with ten specially appointed ‘managers’ to monitor how each club within the county is performing.

County senior boss Kieran McGeeney lent his support and while thanking supporters for all their support throughout the year urged them to get behind this fund raising venture adding that he, his management team and each and every one of his players are extremely grateful for the support they receive throughout this and every year.

Chairman of the Co. Board, John McMahon was in very upbeat mood and thanked Club Kidlare for their magnificent efforts down the years adding “their help has been enormous to the Co. Board and he was confident that with the help of this draw and everyone getting behind it, especially the clubs in the county the recent financial problems would be a thing of the past.”

All prizes for this year’s draw are fully sponsored so there is no doubt that this venture presents an ideal opportunity to make this one of the most successful fund raising ventures of recent times.
