Sarsfields cruise to victory

County champions, Sarsfields, had little difficulty in opening a successful defence of their senior championship with a comfortable 1-19 to 1-5 win over a gallant Ballymore Eustace at St. Conleth’s Park, on Saturday evening, writes TOMMY CALLAGHAN.

John Crofton’s boys were in front from the word go and while a depleted Ballymore never gave up the fight, they nonetheless were outclassed throughout.

In the Joe Fox IFC there were wins for Ballyteague and Ellistown.
