It has been confirmed, as expected, that the second round of the senior, intermediate and junior football championship draw will take place at St. Conleth’s Park, Newbridge, on Wednesday 30 May, following the quarter final of the Leinster Junior Football Championship game between Kildare and Kilkenny, which throws in at 7.30 writes TOMMY CALLAGHAN.

The draw for the senior and intermediate will see the eight first round winners go into one drum, the winners going stright through to the quarter finals. The eight first round losers will go into the second drum with the winners playing the losers of the winners group.

In the junior championships there will be an open draw but no teams that have met in round 1 can meet in round 2.

No date has been fixed for when these games will be played but it is expected that no games will be played while Kildare are still involved in either Leinster, Qualifier or the All Ireland series.
