One of Kildare’s favourites, Anthony Rainbow, has been appointed to take charge of Carlow senior football, it was confirmed last evening.

The Suncroft man, a former All Star and one of the stylish wing backs of his generation, acted as a selector last season under manager Luke Dempsey, who resigned following Carlow’s elimination from the Qualifiers earlier in the summer.

Anthony Rainbow was a front runner for the position from the word go and was confirmed following a county board meeting last evening.
