Marron’s retail shop manager Maire Morrissey is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer at St James’ Hospital. She is the sister of Edel and Victor and mother of Jonathan, all of whom work in the business, and daughter of founder Des,

“We know that breast cancer and cancer has touched every family,” said Jonathan. Some 200 cups of tea and coffee were served during the morning, and local businesses rowed in to provide sandwiches, balloons and banners. At the last count, some €2,340 had been raised for the hospital’s Breast Care Centre, and the money is still rolling in.
