There’ll be no fooling around on 1 April coming when Carton House plans to turn women at Fairyhouse purple.

The historic Kildare hotel will host the Most Stylish Lady competition at the Ladbrokes Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse.

“Purple Reign” will be the theme of the Easter Sunday event according to a Carton spokesperson.

Model Rosanna Davison and RTE presenter and designer Brendan Courtney will be among the judges looking for the most inspirational use of the colour purple in the winning outfit.

Carton House will also host the Most Stylish Lady marquee beside the parade ring in Fairyhouse, where ladies hoping to vie for the title can register on the purple carpet from 12 noon on April 1.

Carton said the competition theme takes its inspiration from the elegant heritage of Carton House, once the country retreat of the Duke of Leinster and his Lady Emily.

The winner will receive an overall prize package to the value of €8,000 from Carton House.

Apart from Rosanna Davison, International Model and former Miss World, and Brendan Courtney, presenter of RTE style show Off The Rails, Bairbre Power, Fashion Editor of Irish Independent and Weekend Magazine and David Webster, General Manager of Carton House will be on the judging team.
