A Kildare woman is cutting a swathe through the world of high-quality dressing for women who want a smart and stylish business wardrobe.
Claire Doyle, is the owner of Elizabeth & Claire, which is based in Smithfield, Dublin. The business was established in 2009 and counts President McAleese, former Tanaiste Mary Coughlan, Senator Francis Fitzgerald, celebrity chef Rachel Allen and top female executives and members of the legal profession both in Ireland and the UK among her clients. Claire cut her fashion teeth with Irish designer Louise Kennedy, who dressed actress Amy Huberman for last Friday’s royal wedding.
Elizabeth & Claire caters for the woman who wants quiet, confident, classic power dressing with a feminine twist.
Claire, a DCU business graduate, has introduced new colours and pieces for 2011 to her current line which comprises a capsule collection of 17 pieces in sharp black, demure navy, striking grey and rich berry. New season colours include oriental salmon, a rich blush and a vibrant purple while new styles include a tulip shaped dress and an ‘edge to edge’ made-to-order tweed jacket and polka dot grey and white shirt – ideal for after work events and business dinners.
The trans-seasonal collection comprises coats, jackets, dresses, shirts, trousers and skirts in a range of knee-length styles and shapes that can be worn as separates or as suits. A special bespoke service is also available to ensure a perfect fit and tailoring for each body type.
“I see a clear trend of women buying more carefully with a strong return to classic investment pieces rather than high-fashion hits,” said Claire.
“Power and elegance, with a hidden sensual side, is the best way to describe the collection. Each piece is designed to move with ease from day to evening.
“My overall aim is to become the leading label of choice for Ireland’s top professional women and I want to thank my loyal customers who have made my business successful over the past year.”
