Pretty goths vamp it up for autumn/winter

A pretty, sparkly gothic vibe dominated the Emporium Kalu fashion show in Naas last Tuesday, October 23.

A pretty, sparkly gothic vibe dominated the Emporium Kalu fashion show in Naas last Tuesday, October 23.

But when segments of the presentation were titled ‘Dark Shadow’ and ‘Dracula’s Bride’, that wouldn’t have come as any surprise to the local ladies who packed into the Main Street boutique for the catwalk show.

Spotted at the show were Off The Rails presenter Sonya Lennon and local designer Roisin Linnane, whose work featured in the presentation.

The show started with some beautiful Tolkien-inspired cowled hoods and butter soft leggings, courtesy of Rick Owens, that could have come straight out of a fantasy novel.

Dresses by Jenny Packham, Catherine Deane and Ozlem Suer were matched with coats and capes by Alice Temperly and Giles Deacon, to give a more traditional Stoker-inspired vampire twist than a pallid Twilight interpretation.

Vivienne Westwood’s Anglomania and Red Label, Giles Deacon and Maria Grachvogel outfits also wowed the crowd, with hats by Lucy Gilmore, beanies by Sphere One and Roisin Linnane and bags by Kildare town wood and leather designer Garvan DeBruir.

Emer Flanagan did the make-up and Frances at Sizzers Hair Design in Naas took care of the spectacular hairstyles.
