Kildare’s favourite twins Jedward play at the Curragh Racecourse next Saturday, August 13. Speaking to the Leinster Leader ahead of their concert, the twins told the Leinster Leader that fans can expect a crazy day... and their plans to run for President!
Are you looking forward to coming back to Kildare for your concert on the Curragh?
Yes, it’s gonna be amazing. We are getting a helicopter because we are on tour and have another show in Killarney that day. We can’t wait to see all our fans in Kildare. It’s gonna be crazy!
Do you have a special message for your Kildare fans?
Yes. Get ready for a crazy show. We’re gonna rock out with all of you!
Tell us about your new TV show OMG Jedward’s Dream Factory- are you looking forward to making kids’ dreams come true?
Yes we did the title credits a few days ago. We are living our dream so it’s gonna be cool to make other people’s dreams come true. We want people to come up with really cool ideas.
Where did you go on your summer holidays this year?
We don’t get any holidays. The tour is like a holiday though cause we get to perform every night and stay in cool cities and nice hotels. And we can hang out with all our fans.
It was announced last week that the Eurovision was the most-watched television programme this year. You beat the election debate between the political leaders! How does that feel?
Maybe we should run for president. We would love that. Planet Jedward would be the coolest place ever. I think it’s cool that people watche Eurovision. It was the best thing ever.
This is a quesion from one of your biggest Kildare fans, Meadhbh O’Meara: What would you do if you were separated for a month?
We would go crazy. We can’t imagine us being separated.
And a couple of questions from fan Nicole Weir, from Naas:
What is the tallest your hair has ever been, and who was it - John or Edward?
Our hair has been crazy tall, like 8 inches. It’s always the same length for both of us.
Growing up, what was your favourite kids programme?
The Simpsons. We still love it now and watch it all the time
Did you ever have bunk beds, and who slept on the top bunk?
Yea we still do. John sleeps on top. But we never get to go home any more.
Have you ever got anything stuck up your nose or in your ear?
No. That’s crazy!
